Diet does plays an important role in gaining fat as well as in losing fat.  But diet in terms of the nutrition value of the items we eat. The key of losing excess fat is to evaluate our diet and make the appropriate changes. What makes me gain weight is not necessarily what makes you gain weight, so once you find what works for you, stick to it and do it consistently through the day.

If you love eating junk foods and sugary foods then find replacement for it. If you love cheese puffs and cheese nachos, perhaps you could replace them with all natural bake potato chips with no additives.

If you love candies or chocolates, perhaps you could replace them with fruits! Fruits are much healthier and will cut your sugary cravings.

I stopped eating milk chocolate bars long time ago. I replaced them with dark chocolate squares. If you find replacement for the bad foods in your life, making the switch to a healthier diet is much easier.

You could replace milk with rice milk, or low fat milk, low fat dairy products. If you love sodas, even diet sodas, you could replace them with iced tea, hot tea, even plain water with a hint of lemon. I actually mix water with juices, like orange juice. Juices have a lot of sugar, by combining the two, I get the taste without the sugar.

And I eat 5 times a day. Early in the morning a protein shake to level off my sugar. Then breakfast, usually eggs with some meat, gluten free bread and a coffee. Lunch for me is steamed rice, with salad and a meat. Mid-afternoon, usually apples with some gluten free lunch meat. At night, I eat almost the same as lunch (leftover) and by mid-night, some protein. I guess this more like 6 meals!

Should I exercise?

Another way on how to get rid of belly fat for women is to perform cardiovascular exercises. Regular exercise can help in losing fat in your belly. Doing exercise would not only burn fat but also help you build muscles. Variation in the workout routines is necessary so that your body would not get used on it. This means that the duration and intensity of the exercise should be increased as you progress with the workout.

Some of the common and simple exercises that can help on how to get rid belly fat for women include jumping rope, swimming and running.  You should combine cardio exercise with weight training exercises in order to remove those love handles easier.

Doing cardiovascular exercises can burn calories quickly and can improve the body’s metabolism. If you do not have the time or budget to enroll in a gym, you can still do cardiovascular exercise to eliminate belly fat. You could try an stationary bike or a stair climbing machine, those are simple exercises that you can do at home.

However, buying equipment is not one of my preferences. As they include a high expense (most of the time). And the worst for me, the space they take. Who has the space for such bulky equipment these days?

You do not have to take any space from your living area, drive to the gym, fight traffic,  look for babysitters, none of those problems. Right at your home, whenever you can fit it on your schedule. Moreover, consistency and motivation are significant in removing belly fat. You should not expect that your tummy fat will disappear overnight. However, you should not be disappointed because little by little you will notice the results of working out and eating healthy.

Commitment and motivation will drive you to be consistent with you routines, with your food exchanges. It would be a waste of time, money and effort if you perform exercises and diet without commitment. Having the heart to make these changes is so key to keep them going strong day in and day out.
